Tonight
Here comes the coldest temps of the year. On top of the winds, the feels like temps will be in the teens. But, before we get to this evening we need to talk about this afternoon. We do have the possibility to see some snow showers anywhere north of I-20 and west of Athens. No accumulations are expected and travel should be fine.
Tomorrow
With the freezing temps overnight tonight, we will have the chance to see some black ice tomorrow morning with the lingering damp roads. The winds should blow off most of the water so the black ice will be few and far in between. Other wise we are looking at a high temp of around 48 degrees.
More Rain?
Yep! More rain is expected to move into northern Georgia on New Years Day with rain totals adding up to around an inch!

Good evening everyone, Alex Forbes here in the North Georgia Weather Center. Light to moderate rain is invading norther Georgia particularly in the Ellijay, Calhoun, Dahlonega, and Canton areas moving northeast rather quickly. The rain will continue overnight tonight and tomorrow will be an upside down day.
Tomorrow
Our high of around 47 degrees should occur early in the morning and we get colder as the day goes on with a low at . With the colder weather beginning, we could see the chance for more flurries as south as possibly Alpharetta, Marietta, Buford, ect. The bulk of the flurries will be in the mountains. No accumulations are expected.
2013's Beginning
Since the world didn't end in 2012, we have to forecast into 2013. That begins with rain. We could see upwards to an inch of rain on New Years Day. Some snow flurries are possible out of the back edge of the system but sill no accumulations then either.

Today
A passing shower is certainly possible today in the northwestern part of our coverage area. So, if you live in Rome, Dalton, Trenton, and Chatsworth, bring an umbrella just in case. Otherwise our highs should be in the low 50s and upper 40s up north. 53 degrees is expected in Atlanta.
Tonight
After 53 degrees today, there is a massive system out to our west right now and it is pushing our dry weather out of the way. Most of the rain will occur overnight tonight. It should move out of the metro area by daybreak tomorrow. Out total should range somewhere between a quarter of an inch to an half of an inch.
The New Storm-The New Year
Just in time for 3013, a new storm will roll in. The system will bring us chance for rain for 3 days starting New Years Day. On the night of January 2nd in to January 3rd, we could see a slight chance of a wintry mix in the Northern Georgia Mountains. Overall, we could pick up two inches over the next 10 days.

The Rain Storm
20s are going to be the common number tonight after a high of only around 43 degrees in the ATL. Now, tomorrow night is going to be our transition night across Northern Georgia and Metro Atlanta. First, clouds will build in through out the day, and our rain chances will go up as we head into the evening. The bulk of the rain should happen into the overnight hours Friday -> Saturday. We will see somewhere between a quarter of an inch to an half of an inch all around the area. After the system rolls through, our highs go back into the 40s.

Wintry Weather Soon?
The initial forecast earlier today thought their will be a wintry mix just after New Years Day on January 2nd. However, as new model runs come in, we do not think that is going to happen now,
